Craig Deao, The Studer Group

Craig Deao is the Research & Development Leader for Studer Group, a national healthcare consulting firm based in Gulf Breeze. As a member of the senior leadership team, Craig is responsible for several areas of operations including new product development, research, marketing, business development, and their education division which includes monthly educational institutes and a 20-person speakers bureau.

Craig has a passion for identifying and spreading best practices across the healthcare industry. His areas of interest include patient safety, patient perception of care, and the intersection of evidence-based medicine with Evidence-Based LeadershipSM.

Prior to joining Studer Group, Craig served in several capacities at VHA in Dallas, Texas, where his primary role was sharing best practices among the executives leading VHA’s 2,200 member healthcare organizations.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Craig received bachelor’s degrees in both Mass Communication and in Animal, Dairy and Poultry Science from Louisiana State University. Yes . . . Poultry Science.

He received his master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota and currently serves on their Alumni Board of Directors. Craig is married to Julie and is the proud father of two-and-a-half-year-old Sam and his little brother jack, who just turned three months old.

1. Reaction – measures how participants react to the training
2. Learning – measures how participants have learned from the training
3. Behavior – measures whether what was learned is being applied on the job
4. Results – measures whether the application of training is achieving results.

Jack Phillips, a world renowned expert on measurement and evaluation, added a fifth level:
5. Return on Investment – measures if the monetary value of the results exceeded the cost

Rhonda Hackerm, Human Resource Specialist

Rhonda Hacker is a Human Resource Specialist for the Okaloosa County Board of Commissioners. She specializes in training development and has developed and implemented several management skills training programs.

Ms. Hacker began her Human Resources career in 1993 at Hawaii Business College. Since that time she has worked in the field of Human Resources and Training for various organizations. she holds a Bachelor's degree in Theatre/Speech/English and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management.

Dr. Rasmussen will discuss Human Performance Technology (HTP) and how it can be used to transform business, education, and training organizations.

About the speaker:
Dr. Karen L. Rasmussen is the Chair of Engineering and Computer Technology and Professor at the University of West Florida. She holds the following degrees:
B.A. in History from the University of South Florida
B.A. in Legal Administration from the University of West Florida
M.Ed. in Vocational Education from the University of West Florida
PhD in Instructional Design and Development from the University of South Alabama

Her interests lie in the following areas:
Change management and implementation
Technology integration
Online support systems
Design and development of web-based learning environments
Issues related to dynamically creating instruction using reusable learning objects and the potential re-use opportunities of those objects
Professional competencies for instructional designers and human performance professionals

Dr. Rasmussen is the co-author of the book, eLearning: Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (Prentice-Hall, 2006).

Gregory Carl Jackson of Gulf Power

About the Presentation: Gulf Power is a leader in Safety Training as part of their "Target Zero" (zero accidents and injuries) safety mission. To extend "Target Zero" to the community, Gulf Power conducts thousands of electrical safety awareness presentations aimed at first responders, community groups, and K-12 students. In this presentation, Gregory Carl Jackson of Gulf Power demonstrates how models and simulations of electrical safety concepts are a powerful tool for simplifying and explaining complex electrical safety issues.

About the speaker: Gregory Carl Jackson's career at Gulf Power Company started 19 years ago in the Line Department. Next, he became a Training Analyst where he developed and provided safety and technical training system-wide.
Currently, he is a Loss Control Representative in the Risk Management Department. His primary focus is Public Safety working to minimize liability arising from accidents among the general public, professional contractors, and first responders by promoting electrical safety awareness and communicating knowledge about electricity. He develops, delivers and coordinates electricity safety education to adult/high risk public groups and school students. Mr. Jackson holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Gretchen Clarke: AppRiver Director of Training and Development

Gretchen Clarke, director of training and development for AppRiver, is primarily responsible for the development, design and implementation of internal and external training programs for this leading e-mail and Web security service provider. Since joining AppRiver in 2008, Clarke has played a key role in launching the company’s on-site training academy, AppRiver University. AppRiver University currently offers employees a variety of training courses that are designed to develop technical, personal and professional skills.

Clarke brings nearly a decade of experience in the technology and training fields to AppRiver. Previously, she served as the Director of Marketing for simpleview, a technology and software solutions provider. Clarke has also held positions at Baptist Health Care and Avery Group, Inc. where she was instrumental in creating, coordinating, and deploying employee professional development, training and wellness programs.

Clarke received a B.S. in Psychology from Spring Hill College and a M.S. in Management from Troy University. She is active member and volunteer in the local community as well as an award recipient of ADDY Awards, a Henry Flagler Award and was AppRiver’s inaugural Employee of the Quarter! Clarke was also a four-year collegiate athlete with All-American honors.
